Banjo SN 0021

This is another dual flange slot-head openback banjo.  The 11" pot is walnut and cherry with a curly maple cap at the bottom.  It has a round brass rod tonering and produces a wonderful tone.  The head is a Renaissance, and the pot is completed with a Vega style armrest, No-Knot tailpiece and a hand made maple and ebony bridge.  The slot-head style neck is made of cherry with a strip of maple down the center and on the heel.  The fretboard and headstock veneer are ebony and have no inlays.  The only position markers are pearl side dots.  The 5th string tuner is a Dobson style, with a 16:1 guitar tuner with a black button that matches the other tuners.  The scale length of this banjo is 26.188".  The neck is 1.25" wide at the bone nut with 11/32" string spacing.  The 16 fret neck also has an exposed truss rod nut in the frailing scoop.  This is an outstanding instrument and is very loud and clear.  It will ship in a new hard case.  You can hear me play this banjo on Youtube by clicking this link:  Durang's Hornpipe.
