Coffee Table and Log Bench

We needed a coffee table and a bench to sit in front of the fireplace.  I had some cedar logs cut off my father in-law's place and I made the table with a base of cypress left over from our deck building project years ago. The bench is from an oak log that fell on our property. I split it down the center and it cracked while drying. Since I have always had a fondness for bowties in furniture, I used this technique to stop the crack and added three legs.  Both are finished with linseed oil.
